Oliver Parson

I’m a Data Science Manager at National Grid, where I lead a team of Data Scientists who use advanced analytics and machine learning to contribute to the UK’s clean energy future. I’ve previously worked in Data Science roles at Bulb and Hive, where I developed products to help energy customers understand their smart meter data and save energy, detect water leaks in their homes, and look after their elderly relatives. Outside of work, I took a career break a few years ago to travel the world carbon neutral. We tracked our carbon footprint as we went, minimised our carbon emissions wherever possible, and offset those which we couldn’t avoid at the end of the trip.
